Helambu Trek

Helambu trek is a short and easy trek in Nepal and can easily be accessed from Kathmandu. It covers the diverse range of brilliant green valleys, misty rhododendron forests, and distant horizons of snowy peaks and the vivid contrast of Hindu and Tibetan Buddhist cultures.

Helambu trek is a relatively low altitude trek. Tamang and Sherpa people are the major inhabitants of the area and Melamchi Gaon, Tarkegyang and Sermathang are the places. Mt. Langtang Lirung 7246m dominates the valley to the north; Gang Chhenpo 6388m and Naya Ganga 5846m lie to the south; and Dorje Lakpa 6966m protects the east end of the valley.

During the trek, you will feel it is cultural rather than a mountain and glacier expedition. Helambu trek offers many Monastery visits, Rhododendron forest, terrific mountain views, attractive Sherpa settlements, affable people and the well-preserved culture of the area.
